Asmara Tannery says leather demand has increased
The Asmara Tannery Factory in the African state of Eritrea is aiming to boost production, according to the head of administration in the Factory, Ms. Elsa Habte.
She told local media that the factory is striving to satisfy both domestic and international demand, and that the market demand for its products has increased. Ms. Elsa also referred to a shortage of hide supply to satisfy market demand, and indicated that the main reason for such shortage is lack of careful use of hides. She called on concerned parties in general and the Ministry of Agriculture Ministry in particular to train and advice individuals in careful use of the resource.
Asmara Tannery factory was established in 1961, and has a total of 120 employees.
