MCM appoints new global travel retail manager
German luxury leathergoods supplier MCM has announced the appointment of Susanne Laible as global travel-retail manager with immediate effect following Gerry Munday’s decision to leave the company to pursue a new challenge.
Ms Laible previously worked with duty-free operator The Nuance Group as senior buyer (speciality) fashion Europe, where she was responsible for purchasing management, new store layout and the development of the buying team. Her previous experience also includes positions with Harvey Nichols in Europe and Asia as a senior buyer and general manager.
In her new role, Ms Laible will be responsible for developing MCM’s global travel-retail business, consolidating the business in Europe, the Middle East and Asia while seeking new opportunities in existing markets and new regions such as the Americas.
“I am delighted to be joining MCM,” she said. “It is a challenge, but very exciting to be crossing the fence from a buying position to become part of such a well-established and highly thought of brand. My previous experience in both travel-retail and luxury retailing has given me a great insight into both buyer and customer needs, thus allowing for a smooth transition to this new role.”
