ISA TanTec and Timberland feature on Responsible Business Awards shortlist

Guangzhou-based tanning group ISA TanTec, a finalist for China in the inaugural Tannery of the Year competition, has now been named, alongside fotwear brand Timberland, on the shortlist for the 2011 Responsible Business Awards.

The shortlist is made up of companies that the organisers believe are currently leading the way in sustainability and corporate responsibility.

There are eight categories for the Responsible Business Awards; ISA TanTec and Timberland will feature in the Sustainability Commercialised category.

In a statement following the announcement of the shortlist, ISA TanTec drew parallels between its LITE (low impact on the environment) leather initiative and products such as Timberland’s Earthkeepers collection. It said the nominations show that the two partners “truly share the same beliefs in sustainability and corporate social responsibility”.

Winning companies will be announced at an event in London on May 3.
