Conneaut Leather launches antibacterial leather
Ohio-based company Conneaut Leather has announced it is using technology developed by Michigan textile solutions provider Crypton to offer a breathable, stain resistant finish for its leather, called Powered by Crypton. The finish reduces the formation of bacteria and odour, according to Conneaut Leather, and its bleach-cleanable surface means the leather is a practical solution for environments that require easy-to-clean furnishings, such as hospitals and offices.
"We are extremely excited to partner with Crypton and offer an unsurpassed level of durability, cleanability and comfort to our customers," said Jim DiLella, president of Conneaut Leather. “"Historically, leather has not had a strong presence in healthcare environments, mainly because of the cleanability factor. Conneaut Leather has addressed this issue with the addition of its anti-microbial, antibacterial and bleach-cleanable Crypton Leather. Patients and their families can now enjoy the luxury, comfort and warmth of their own home while undergoing treatment.”
