The owners of São Paulo-based packer company Frigol have been arrested and released, after two days in prison, pending a court hearing.

Brothers Djalma and Devaldo Gonzaga de Oliveira have been accused of corporate fraud. Their company went into administration at the end of June.

Frigol ran three slaughterhouses in the states of São Paulo, Pará and Rondônia with a combined daily slaughter capacity of 2,700 head of cattle. It employed 1,400 people.
