Cotance meeting details revealed
European leather association COTANCE’s is to host its annual meeting on June 5 in Pompeii, Italy.
The meeting will take place in the Auditorium degli Scavi. It will include an opportunity to visit the ancient Roman tannery in the archaeological site that has been recently restored thanks to UNIC (Unione Nazionale Industria Conciaria), COTANCE’s Italian member.
Representatives from 12 national leather trade associations have responded to the invitation from COTANCE president, Nalle Johansson (Elmo, Sweden).
The meeting will cover the global economic downturn and strategies that can help to bring about a recovery. It will discuss recent and upcoming European regulations, particularly around environmental protection.
Two key events will also be held. The first is a brunch, at which leather trade organisations from Bulgaria, Romania and Croatia will be able to exchange ideas and interact with their counterparts in other areas of Europe. The second is the signing of the European framework agreement on social and environmental reporting adopted by COTANCE and ETUF:TCL, the sector’s social partners at EU level.
