UNIC to work more closely with Leather Working Group

Multi-stakeholder certification body the Leather Working Group (LWG) has signed a memorandum of understanding with main Italian tanning industry association, UNIC. The LWG said this “new, more collaborative relationship” with UNIC was the result of nine months of meetings and discussions.

It explained that the agreement will mean an increase in efforts “to ensure a sustainable and environmentally sound industry for the future”.

It said more detailed discussions will now take place on specific projects and areas in which the two organisations can “share knowledge and information in a cohesive way”.
