List confirms leather shoes from China will be hit by tariffs
The US Hide, Skin and Leather Association has confirmed that a range of leather products will be among the $300 billion worth of goods imported from China that will be subject to an extra 10% tariff from September 1.

President Donald Trump announced at the start of August that trade talks with China had progressed too slowly and said the US would impose the 10% tariff on this new set of products.

Imports from China on the list include leather footwear of all kinds; athletic shoes and golf shoes containing leather were no exception.

Hides and skins also feature on the list, but the US exports far more raw material to tanners in China than the other way round.
