Mulberry results offer boost

UK-based leathergoods manufacturer and retailer Mulberry has announced a 30% rise in sales over the Christmas and New Year period compared to the year before.

The company had earlier warned that slow UK sales could prevent it from hitting its targets for the financial year , but the successful Christmas and January period appears to have made it more optimistic. The company held back from discounting heavily on its leather accessories in the lead-up to Christmas, which looks now to have been the right strategy.
