Macau reports 2008 trade in hides

Macau’s department of statistics has reported that the Special Administrative Region exported 674,305 kilos of raw hides, skins and leather in 2008, with a combined value of $3.6 million.
Compared to 2007, volume was down, but value up; the figures for the previous year were 726,640 kilos of material with a value of $3.2 million.
Imports of hides, skins and leather in 2008 totalled 1.49 million kilos, with a value of $3.04 million, compared to 2.26 million kilos, worth $8.99 million, in 2007.
