No buyer for Botswana tannery

The marketing manager of the Botswana Meat Commission (BMC), Sanie Molapisi, has said that the organisation will look for alternative uses for a tannery it runs after failing to find a buyer for the facility.
The tannery is struggling to attract buyers following an environmental impact assessment report, which said the tannery should be relocated to a more suitable site in the long term than its current location in the town of Lobatse in the south-east of the country.
Mr Molapisi said that at the moment the tannery is just “sitting there'”with its operations limited to salting and storage.
