Anpic organisers happy to meet visitor target

The organisers of the Anpic leather and footwear exhibition in León, Mexico, have said visitor numbers passed the 20,000 mark, the target they had set.

Eduardo Green, one of the directors of the organising committee, told local media that exhibitor numbers were around 850; last year's total was 1,250. But Mr Green said that there was an encouraging number of new exhibitors this time, around 50 companies, mostly from Mexico.

Spain’s footwear components manufacturers’ association (AEC) sent a delegation of seven companies to the event and said afterwards that, in spite of the unfavourable euro exchange rate for buyers in Mexico, the trip had been relatively successful. María Eugenia Coquillat, who leads AEC’s export activity, said that some companies had taken orders and that others had had positive conversations about possible future business.
