UK delegation heads to Pakistan
A three-member delegation from Northampton University in the UK has travelled to Pakistan to meet with Adnan Khawaja, chairman, Pakistan National Vocational and Technical Education Commission (Navtec). Led by Delia Heneghan, director, international office, the visitors discussed ways of promoting and improving vocational training in the leather industry with Navtec representatives.
Mr Khawaja explained that Navtec is already working towards expanding training facilities and upgrading leather technology as well as looking at ways of developing skill standards and curricula through the Industry Advisory Group for the leather industry.
He added that Navtec is also providing training in leather technology to young people under a government initiative designed to address the shortage of skilled workers in the leather industry.
