New economical fatliquor at TFL

19/02/2009

Specialist chemical supplier TFL has launched a new economical, high-performance fatliquor to help tanneries reduce their costs.

Coripol SBB offers an anionic oil based on sulfonated natural fatty substances. It combines excellent tightness with good inner softness and can be considered a multi-purpose fatliquor for modern as well as classical shoe upper and handbag leathers. Leathers treated with the product have a full, round and pleasant handle. They also show a good dyeability and respond well to buffing.

Because of its good lightfastness, Coripol SBB can also be used on white and pastel-shade leathers. Both chrome-tanned and chrome-free articles can be produced. According to the company, vegetable-tanned and re-tanned articles feature exceptional grain tightness when the product is used, while for nappa leathers, the product can be combined with Coripol A or Coripol L GF.

The product contains no potentially harmful substances, thereby making it suitable to produce leathers which pass the TFL White Line criteria. It also features good exhaustion and contributes little to the COD values in tannery waste water.
