11/02/2009
Two new craft training centres are to open in Casablanca, Morocco. One will open in Aïn Sebaâ-Hay Mohammadi and the other in Hay Moulay Rachid. The two institutions, which will accommodate approximately 1,000 young apprentices, will provide training in leatherwork as well as with textiles, wood and metals.
The two centres will require an investment of around 26 million dirhams ($3 million). Minister for employment and vocational training, Jamal Rhmani, secretary of state for craft, Anis Birou, governor of Greater Casablanca, Mohamed Halab, and chairman of the chamber of crafts for the region, Mohamed Boukhiam, are all backing the project. According to Mr Rhmani, the two centres form part of a vision to create five training centres that will be used by 60,000 young apprentices.
