New site aims for greater public awareness
26/01/2009
Leather sector companies in and around the town of Millau in southern France have combined forces to launch a new website aimed at raising awareness among the wider public of the work they do.
Millau has been famous for centuries for sheepskin gloves, and the town is known in the world of French high fashion as the capital of leather.
Since the start of 2008, a group of around 20 small companies in the sector has been working to establish a common identity. The new website is one of the results.
Each of the 20 companies features on the site, www.cuirmillau.fr, with contact details for each one, and a display of their products. Sixteen of the 20 are involved in the production of leather gloves.
