Huge fire in leather garments factory

A huge fire broke out in a factory run by leather garment manufacturer Focus Apparels in the Korangi Industrial Area of Karachi, Pakistan on January 22.

As a result, a high volume of inventory of leather garments for export markets, plus a number of stitching machines, were destroyed. According to central fire brigade station of Karachi, the fire started around 10.30 pm and quickly engulfed the whole factory. Firefighters worked for more than seven hours to extinguishe the fire.

The cause of the fire and the value of the losses are yet to be ascertained. The company is a one of Pakistan’s leading exporters of leather garment.
