Bilateral trade talks
14/01/2009
Vietnam and Pakistan have discussed bilateral trade in a number of areas of their economies, including the leather sector.
The Vietnamese ambassador to Pakistan, Nauyen Quong Thue, has attended a workshop on trade hosted by the Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry, whose president, Anjum Nisar, said the two countries had "tremendous scope" for co-operation in business.
The ambassador responded by saying that Vietnam and Pakistan have already signed nine memoranda of understanding to promote bilateral trade. He said that the volume of trade between them in 2008 had grown by 12% and reached $150 million.
