Growth for Tunisia

The leather and footwear sector in Tunisia is being hailed as a success after the latest full-year figures (for 2007) showed growth of 16%, with export revenues of around $4.5 million.
Official statistics group leather and footwear in the wider textile industry sector, in which 1,700 Tunisian companies are active at the moment, 200 of them focusing exclusively on export markets.
With the agri-food and mechanical industries sector, it accounts for 76% of the North African country's industrial output, 87% of its exports, 83% of jobs and 62% of foreign direct investment.
