Automotive interior specialist in administration
05/01/2009
Austrian automotive interior supplier Eybl International has confirmed that it has gone into administration. At the end of last year, the Krems-based company, whose products include leather seats and steering-wheel covers for cars, lorries and buses, said that talks about a takeover by Slovenian company the Prevent Group had been unsuccessful, obliging it to file for administrative receivership. At the same time, it alerted the Austrian authorities to the possibility of its 600 employees in the country losing their jobs.
However, Eybl said in a statement: “Based on preliminary talks already conducted with customers, suppliers and banks, and on successful restructuring measures taken over the past months, the management aims to speedily conclude the administrative receivership proceedings, and thereby secure the jobs in question for the long term.”
The company has eight production sites in Austria, Hungary, Romania, Germany and Slovakia as well as four distribution sites in Germany, France, Spain and the UK.
