New faces at Designers’ Village
Details of some of the designers scheduled to appear at the Designers’ Village area at Le Cuir have been revealed. Among them are three Brazilian designers—Diana Ruschi, Thais Osako Takase and Thais Kasawara de Deus—two French designers—OceanoRoses and Tatiana Roussillon and Coline Grandpierre—and a collaboration from a French company (Mia) and an Indonesian (Ami) firm called Mia-Ami.
Diana Ruschi focuses on ecology using natural animal resources in a responsible way. She recently graduated from the School of Fine Arts in São Paulo and will present her first collection of women’s shoes, made from Tilapia leather, at the fair.
The new collection from Thais Osako Takase combines strong Japanese cultural influences with Brazilian fashion elements. Many items in the collection use exotic leather.
Thais Kaswara de Deus is also concerned with the ecosystem and social durability. She uses high-quality and exotic leathers that respect the environment.
OceanoRoses is a shoe collection inspired by the Japanese universe and floral aspects. Oceano studied footwear at the Lycée d’Alembert in Paris after which he continued his apprenticeship as a shoe and boot maker before working for Kenzo.
Both Tatiana Rousillon and Coline Grandpierre graduated from École Boulle – French School of Applied Arts. Coline carries out graphic research and looks for inspiration from nature, urban settings and painting, while Tatiana manufactures leather prototypes.
Mia and Ami develop their collections through the internet and their work combines French and Indonesian influences. Their products are made from lamb or goat leather and are handmade.
