India will explore new commercial possibilities in the leathergoods market in Saudi Arabia and Jordan during February and March 2009.
A delegation is being planned by the Indian Council for Leather Exports (CLE) for the Middle East region in order to tap the potential for leathergoods and footwear.
Saudi Arabia and Jordan have significant imports of leather and leather products from all over the globe. Their total global imports are $414.31 million a year, and India's share of that total at the moment is only 3.88%. CLE is convinced it can grow this share.
