10/12/2008

Of a total $5.15 billion Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) given between July 2007 and June 2008, Pakistan attracted an FDI of $ 1.8 million for the leather and leathergoods sector. However, this was lower than the amount of investment attracted in the prior-year period (July 2006 to June 2007), which totalled $3 million, according to the State Bank of Pakistan’s annual report for 2007-08.

Meanwhile, in the year July 2005 to June 2006, the sector attracted $6.5 million in foreign investment.
