New Mondrian-inspired wallet at Smythson

04/12/2008

UK-based luxury leathergoods and stationary manufacturer Smythson recently added a new Mondrian-inspired travel wallet to its autumn-winter 2008 range.

The slim wallet is made from pigskin and is black on the outside but colourful on the inside. Each partition has an allocated use, for example a place for a passport, tickets and documents, and the colours include bright red, yellow and blue.

Pieter Cornelis (Piet) Mondriaan was a dutch painter responsible for developing a non-representational form known as Neo-Plasticism consisting of a grid of vertical and horizontal black lines combined with the three primary colours.
