According to the China Leather Industry Association (CLIA), Chinese exports of semi-finished and finished leather fell sharply during the first nine months of the year.

China exported 6,000 tons of semi-finished leather worth $20.71 million during the nine-month period, falling 75% and 52%, respectively, year-on-year.

Finished leather exports totalled 24,000 tons at a value of $330 million during the nine-month period a 63% and 63% drop, respectively, compared with the same period last year.
