Clariant issues new colour forecast
26/11/2008
Clariant’s Leather Business has launched its new shade card illustrating the fashion colours for spring-summer 2010 to benefit their customers with this exclusive information well in advance of the season.
Colours for spring-summer 2010 take a very different route to the recent past. Harsh eighties brights no longer dominate. In their place are toned down, sun-washed or vegetable brights and delicate pales. Spices, tan and brown make a comeback and are a perfect match for ethnic topics.
Clariant’s Gobal Colour Card presents four important colour themes which dominate the 2010 spring-summer season.
African Gold inspires a palette of beaten gold, red madder and spicy pigment colours.
Grow Your Own is addressing ethically aware consumers thinking carefully about all aspects of their life including what they wear. Natural colours are their priority. Green is no longer the only eco colour. Vibrant organic colours including Cranberry, Blueberry, Lemon and Lettuce Green take a lead within this colour theme.
Coastline reflects paler shades that have been creeping back into fashion. Salt-stained pales take on the colours of wet sand, pebbles, blue horizons and tousled-haired surfers.
The fourth colour theme, Cocktail Fizz, combines brights and pastels with a hint of the fifties for a high-summer story. Lazy summer days of hot sandy beaches and ice cool drinks bring to mind a cocktail fizz of sun-bleached colours.
The four colour directions create a perfect balance for this happy summer season. All colours are illustrated on real leather samples showing the wet end formulations that incorporate Clariant’s Melioderm dyes to cover all your dyeing needs for these exciting new concepts. The Finishing recipes are based on Clariant’s innovative Neosan 2000 and PPE pigment range.
