Acccording to data released by the Export Promotion Bureau of Bangladesh, Hong Kong was the top importer of finished leather from Bangladesh between July 2007 and June 2008. It imported finished leather worth $100.2 million, followed by Korea $36.5 million, Jordan $22 million, Spain $17.3 million, China $16 million and Italy $13.4 million. Similarly, India, Indonesia, Taiwan, Mexico, Poland, Taiwan, the UK and other countries have also imported finished leather from Bangladesh during this period.

The total exports of finished leather from Bangladesh during this period, the last complete financial year, stood at $284.4 million.
