Export tax rebates to rise
19/11/2008
Following the recently announced changes to changes in VAT policy in China (see leatherbiz.com, November 17), the country’s ministry of finance has said manufacturing firms there can also look forward to a rise in the rebates they receive of export taxes.
From 1 December 2008, companies exporting leathergoods, including handbags, luggage and footwear will be able to claim a rebate of 13% rather than 11% of the export tax they pay.
