Tax refunds blocked

The chairman of the Pakistan Leather Garment Manufacturers & Exporters Association (PLGMEA), Fawad Ijaz Khan, has complained to the country’s tax authorities that member companies have been unable to secure refunds of sales tax since June.
In response, the tax authorities said they would expedite the release of pending refund claims and clear them all within one month.
