Accident survivor’s ‘miracle jacket’

17/11/2008

A New Jersey cleaning company, Hallak Cleaners, recently had to put its skill with leather garments to an unusual use. It restored a leather motorcycle jacket worn by Sussex County biker Mike Caruso.

Mr Caruso was involved in a near-fatal accident and paramedics on the scene had to cut him out of the jacket, slicing it into pieces, and the jacket was destroyed.

While he was recovering in the hospital, Mr Caruso's wife, Tricia, approached Hallak hoping they could perform “a miracle repair” as surprise welcome home gift for her husband. Hallak took on the seemingly impossible feat and fully restored the jacket free of charge.
