Cattle cash complaint
13/11/2008
Cattle farmers in Western Australia have complained about proposals from the state government to use money from a cattle compensation fund to finance an education initiative.
The government in Perth could take more than $300,000 out of the compensation fund to pay for publicity explaining the national livestock identification system. Farmers have claimed that this would represent a poor use of the money, in place to help farmers through hard times, since they have all applied the system to their herds successfully.
