Anti-dumping: record number of Chinese firms respond
11/11/2008
A record number of Chinese companies in the leather footwear space—60 firms in all—have told the authorities there that want to be part of a national response to the European Union’s decision to carry out a review of its anti-dumping measures against imports of these products from China and Vietnam.
In addition, the China Leather Industry Association and footwear associations in Wenzhou,Guangdong,Fujian and Zhejiang are all preparing corporate responses to accusations that Chinese export prices are being kept falsely and unfairly low. In many cases, European buyers and distributors are working with their trading partners in China to counter this claim.
