Ifema, the organiser of exhibitions in Madrid including Iberpiel for leathergoods and Modacalzado for footwear, sent representatives to Poland this autumn to take part in a special seminar on fashion events.
Fashion Fairs 2009 was the seventh annual event of its kind, taking place in the city of Lodz.
Addressing the event on the subject of Iberpiel and Modacalzado, Ifema’s Félix Pérez-Fajardo said around 70% of Spanish footwear producers attend, but that the two events also had “a significant presence” from other countries.
He and his colleague Sandra Raffin said they hoped their presence in Lodz would, in future, encourage a higher attendance at these events from Poland. “We hope this kind of measure will have an impact on the Polish market,” they said. “This is one of the most important markets for Spanish fashion and footwear.”
