The world's biggest atlas, appropriately called Earth, has gone on sale. Only 3,000 copies of the leather-bound special edition atlas, priced at around $3,200, have been printed by Australian publishing company Millennium House.

Each copy weighs 30kg, measures 610mm x 469mm and contains 154 maps and 800 photographs. There are also in-depth descriptions of each country's geography, history and culture. A thousand copies have gold-coloured leather covers and gold plating on the pages; the other 2,000 have leather dyed royal blue on the cover and silver plated pages.

It is the brainchild of the founder of Millennium House, Gordon Cheers.
