04/11/2008

The president of Italy’s National Institute for External Trade, the veteran diplomat Umberto Vattani, has travelled to  Vietnam for formal talks on how to improve trade between the two countries.

He said he felt Italian companies could play a significant role in helping Vietnam continue its economic development, especially with regard to improving infrastructure. For its part, the Asian country is also keen to increase exports to Italy, with leathergoods dominating that activity at the moment with a 32% share.
