Clariant launches new Aqualen products
Switzerland-based chemicals specialist Clariant has added new solutions to its Aqualen Top Coat range.
According to the company a variety of gloss levels can be reached by combining Aqualen Top DC-2050 (dull) and Aqualen Top GC-2051 (glossy). These can also be combined with other ecologically-friendly Aqualen/Melio Tops and/or the Melio WF feel additive range.
Aqualen Top GC-2030.A has been developed for high gloss shoe upper leathers. Aqualen Top GC-2031 is also suitable for shoe upper leathers as well as for high gloss fancy and upholstery leathers as well. Both products are plateable at high temperatures and show good intercoat adhesion together with very good milling behaviour.
The new Aqualen Top LN.A can be used for aqueous patent leather imitations. Leathers finished with the aqueous, modified, aliphatic polyurethane dispersion are said to be brilliant and offer depth of gloss. It can be applied by reverse roller coater or by spraying technology.
