New research station in Shiling
During the eighth Shiling Leather and Leathergoods Festival it was announced that a new leather research centre would be established in the town, which is in the Huadu District.
The centre will comprise leathergoods design institutes and a national leather and leathergoods testing centre. It will cost 29 million yuan ($4.2 million) to set up and research will focus on key technologies for generating more trade and minimising pollution.
