Leather standards to be revised
Yang Chengjie, director of China’s National Research Institute for Leather and Footwear, has revealed that various existing leather standards are to be revised.
In order to conform with global standards, it has been decided that seven standards, including those governing wet blue products, finished leather, testing, packaging and transportation, are to be looked at. More than 20 Chinese tanneries and shoe manufacturers will be involved in the revision process.
