According to reports, environmental officers have taken action against a leather firm based in the Mekong Delta, Vietnam.

The company was allegedly found to be dumping untreated solid and liquid waste into the Hau River. It is thought that 19-year-old leather producer Tay Do Leather Joint-Stock Company may have been pumping 10 tons of industrial solid waste and 3,000 m³ of industrial waste water into the river each month.

Water samples have been taken from the river and action taken will depend on the analysis.
