Highlights at Le Cuir à Paris
According to organisers of leather and fur trade fair Le Cuir à Paris, 349 exhibitors from 24 countries attended the most recent edition, held September 23-26.
Highlights included: a contemporary version of quilted leather from Colomer y Munmany, which presented lambskin that gives the impression of elasticity while also creating a geometrical pattern; Orylag’s line which is shaved to a length of 14 mm, with the natural grey fur taking on a peppery appearance; TCIM Gordon – HCP’s soft and shimmery crocodile skin, which is adorned with bright gold to balance out the delicate pink; B. Spoke tannery’s strawlike leather which appears to be plaited without actually being so; Platin Deri tannery’s two-tone colours including pinky grey and mauvish navy; Bopell's pierced lambskin, which is as matt as canvas, and threaded through with a contrasting colour; and Empoli tannery’s transmutation of mink into fish.
The next edition of the show will take place February 10-13.
