Leather Forum held in Fuzhou
The 2008 China Leather Development Forum recently took place in Fuzhou, Jiangxi province, attracting more than 200 participants.
Topics covered were environment, innovation reform and upgrading, with the overall aim of boosting the country’s leather and shoe sectors.
During the forum, Chinese chief WTO negotiator, Long Yongtu, spoke about the country’s current international economic and financial situation as well as the different consumption habits of the East and the West. He urged participants to think about the long-term future of the sector and to develop environmentally friendly production processes.
