Wide range of topics covered at FLAQTIC Congress

The 17th FLAQTIC Congress attracted more than 250 professionals from 18 countries, including nine Latin American and nine other countries.

The leather congress took place in Rio de Janeiro. A number of presentations were given, with topics including: emerging leather processing technologies; innovation in environmental adaptation (management, treatment and reuse of solid waste and effluents); collagen structure; obtaining chemicals and their properties; preservation; beamhouse and tanning; retanning, dyeing and fatliquoring; finishing; economic evaluation of technologies; production and tannery management; markets; machinery, equipment and automation; leather properties; and physical and chemical tests.

The next edition is scheduled to be held in
Uruguay in 2012.
