Germany is an important market, says ANCI
The Moda Made in Italy exhibition, organised by the National Association of Italian Footwear Manufacturers (ANCI), is to take place at Moc in Munich from October 10-12.
The show will cover more than 11,000 m² and will welcome 220 exhibiting companies, each of which will present footwear creations for the spring-summer 2009 season. Many footwear agents from Southern Germany, Austria and Switzerland, among other places, are expected to attend.
ANCI president, Vito Artioli, explains the importance of the German market to the Italian footwear sector. “Germany, despite the decline of the past few years, represents for us a market of strategic and essential outlet and the appointment with Moda Made In Italy at Moc remains an important stop for quality Italian footwear. In fact, side-by-side with the exhibition event we are putting forward new initiatives in order to consolidate the presence of Italian footwear in that area.”
Istat data for 2007 shows that Germany is the second biggest client for made-in-Italy goods, totalling more than €914 million euro. It is the largest buyer in terms of volume, with more than 44 million pairs of shoes purchased in 2007.
