Cristian Conrado Lucae has been appointed South American regional technical manager for BASF's leather unit.
Mr Lucae, who was born in Santa Fe, Argentina, graduated as a leather technician at the West Deutsche Gerberschule Reutlingen (WGR) in Germany.

During the first three years of his course, he worked as trainee at the BASF leather unit. When he finished the course, he went on to work as leather finishing technician for Fenice Spa in Italy.

In 2001, he accepted BASF's invitation to work as an automotive and furniture upholstery leather finishing technician and returned to BASF. In 2004, he was transferred to Brazil as special accounts manager.

Now, as leather technical manager, Mr Lucae expects to stimulate the development of the business even further. "My main target is to consolidate the technical team, offering customised services and solutions in order to satisfy the specific needs of each client," he said on accepting the appointment.
