ANCI praises Mandelson

Italy’s national association of footwear manufacturers, ANCI, has responded positively to the comments European trade commissioner has made about a review of the anti-dumping measures against leather shoe imports from China and Vietnam.
The measures are due to expire on October 6, but Mr Mandelson has confirmed that the European Commission will review the situation, meaning the measures will remain in place for the time being.
President of ANCI, Vito Artioli, said: “We warmly thank Commissioner Mandelson for having himself proposed a revision of the deadline on duties on Chinese and Vietnamese shoes. We give the same thanks to the Italian government for the support received. Obviously we are confident that Commissioner Mandelson’s proposal will be correctly carried out and confirmed by the Board of Commissioners.”
