French tanners' export boost

A reputation for high-end raw materials and excellent technical skills have boosted export sales for French tanners, the president of the French Tanners and Leathergoods Manufacturers Association, Jean-Christophe Muller, has said.
Speaking at Le Cuir A Paris, at the official press conference for the eevnt, Mr Muller said that sales in export markets in 2007 had increased by 42% and he said he felt the high quality of the leather member companies were producing would "open up even more doors" for the sector in France.
