Micam opens

The second of the big European finished products shows, Micam, has opened its doors in Milan. In total, the organisers said 1,672 exhibitors were occupying a combined total of 74,115 square-metres of space, most of it devoted to footwear collections for the spring-summer 2009 season.
The figures are slightly higher than for Micam at this time last year, with a rise in the number of companies, 574, from outside Italy the most likely explanation. Spain, the United Kingdom, Portugal, France, Holland and Brazil are all well represented.
