Smit & Zoon officially opens Nanjing plant

Earlier this month, leather chemicals manufacturer Smit & Zoon officially opened its specialty chemicals production facility in China (about 300 km west from Shanghai).
The new subsidiary, Smit Nanjing Leather Chemicals Company Co., Ltd (SNLCC), is located in the northern suburbs of Nanjing at the Nanjing Chemical Industrial Park. The site is one of China's newest and most innovative industrial parks with a total area of 30,000 square-metres.
With a total investment of €12 million the three-phase building programme will be finalised on a total area of 20,000 square-metres. With the first phase now complete, SNLCC now has a 5,000 tonne annual production capacity of specialty wet end chemicals. After finalising phase three, this will be 20,000 tonnes. Chemicals produced by SNLCC will be sold to the local market.
