Ferragamo to design Dubai penthouse

Salvatore Ferragamo Italia has signed an agreement with Trident International Holdings, a United Arab Emirates-based company operating in the high-end real estate sector.

The Italian luxury fashion house will define the interior design of some exclusive penthouses in the Pentominium building in Dubai. The Pentominium is the tallest residential building in the world, scheduled for completion in 2012. The over 500-metre and 120-storey tower will include 120 penthouses that will be high end in more ways than one.

Michele Norsa, chief executive of Salvatore Ferragamo, said the deal represented his company's first move into luxury residential propertym and suggested it could prove to be an important step in the process of "brand extension".

The official launch of the Pentominium project will take place in Dubai on October 6 with a spectacular fashion show and a charity event.
