Bangladesh delegation hits Turkey

A delegation from Bangladesh, led by commerce adviser Hossain Zillur Rahman is visiting Turkey to attend the 77th Izmir International Fair, which is taking place August 22-31.

According to Mr Rahman, the aim of the visit is to improve trade relations in the hope that Bangladesh's trade with Turkey could soon reach $1 billion.

Members of the delegation have met with Turkish industry representatives and trade minister, Mehmel Zafer Caglayan, to discuss leather exports.

Bilateral trade between the two nations will largely focus on: leather, textiles and garments, pharmaceuticals, energy and petroleum, and ceramic.
